John Crane is seeking an experienced Product Manager to join the company on a permanent contract. The role will require Product Marketing activities to ensure the development and management of new and less mature products, and those more technically advanced requiring more attention, to fulfill market needs and the company objective of maintaining and improving its competitive position and product profitability.
The role can be based at any John Crane site in Europe and will require undertaking 1-2 international trips per month.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate with other functions such as Global Sales, Manufacturing, Product Engineering, Quality Assurance and Purchasing.
• Formulate product line procedures for and implement reviews of the allocated products in terms of pricing, materials, and sourcing methods. Monitors the market strength of the Company’s product lines.
• Formulate product enhancement procedures for development of marketable products.
• Initiate and direct the completion of action plans to enhance existing products or develop new products. Ensure successful execution and timely completion.
• Establish practices for the gathering and use of market information by product line, including competitive analysis, market share, and market size. Competitor information tracked and documented.
• Maintain up-to-date pricing structure for the company’s products.
• Costs & GM analysis of current complete seals and components for setting / revising pricing.
• Work with engineering to develop, implement and maintain vendor quality program
• Oversee quality program root cause analysis and product improvements as required.
• Prepare product business plans including objectives, action plans, and budgets.
• Conduct technical and commercial presentations for customers on aspects of the Company’s products as needed.
• Participation in seminars and trade shows / conventions if needed.
