Reporting to the Release Manager, this role will be responsible for supporting and delivering releases using automation tools and manual processes. This will include release management, prioritisation, setting up new business processes and optimising existing ones to facilitate frequent and streamline releases in PROD and pre-PROD environments. Candidates will be expected to be technically literate in a Java/Linux/Oracle enterprise environment. Debugging failed deployment steps, coordinating fixes, working with on- and off-shore development and QA teams, and supporting the release manager role in his absence are all responsibilities of this role. Experience working with AWS, Jenkins, shell, Linux, basic PL/SQL, and deployment /release-management tools is required. Do you want to be involved in accelerating the pace of innovation? Key Accountabilities: • To technically set up, manage and support software releases into multiple environments • To understand deployment scripts, debug where required, and perform log analysis. • Fix issues during deployment or coordinate fixes, where necessary. • Monitor and assist software releases by coordinating work with various teams across the globe. • Manage releases within the end-to-end release policies and procedures in place at the time. • Support the Release Manager to build and maintain a Release Calendar of implementation phases and events, agree implementation plans to accommodate realistic implementation schedules and avoid conflict. • Support the Release Manager building the release schedule, including testing, pilot and rollout dates and events affecting implementation. Keeping schedules to plan, connecting relevant parties and maintaining support procedures is also important. • Produce release notes, gather testing sign off, rollback plans, include emergency fixes in release processes, and take appropriate actions if any of these are missing or inadequate. • There will be occasions when this role will need to undertake Release activities out of normal workday hours.
