The ILL’s Reactor Division, whose role is to produce the neutrons needed to supply the ILL’s scientific instruments, is responsible for operating all the technical installations associated with the reactor. It currently has a vacancy for a: Shift electrician M/F. Duties: As a member of the Operations Group, you will join one of the group’s six shift teams responsible for ensuring that the reactor functions properly. After undergoing statutory training to obtain the necessary certification, you will take up the position of shift electrician. Your main duties will be to: • operate the reactor installations (preparation of hydraulic, electrical and miscellaneous fluid circuits) • monitor, repair and make the reactor installations secure • prepare and conduct periodic tests and reactor start-up tests • draft operating procedures and instructions • design and implement modifications to improve operating conditions. This is a shift work position involving rotating 12-hour schedules (2 x 12h).
