Currently, in our plant in Barcelona, we are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Manager to act as the local Head of Quality.
As the Plant Quality Manager, you will manage the entire Quality area for our multimillion revenue packaging manufacturing facility in Barcelona. You will be a member of the site's Leadership Team and be responsible for leading the Quality department. Your core mission will be to provide the tactical and strategic direction to build and develop the “best in class organization” to support the long-term growth of our business. You will achieve it by driving the execution of the Quality Policy to enable precision manufacturing and workmanship resulting in products that meet or exceed customer expectations for performance and consistency. You will also enable quality assurance imperatives through rigorous product testing, product specifications that reflect customer expectations, control of nonconforming product, and product performance evaluations. Your responsibility will include additionally the identification of opportunities for product quality and uniformity enhancement as well as leading of diverse quality and quality systems improvement projects. Your will report directly to the Plant Manager and provide the leadership to the team of about twenty Quality employees.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT WESTROCK:
- Implement, maintain and develop quality assurance policies and programs including: development of SOPs, compliance regulations, quality system audits, stability, training programs, disposition of product and complaint investigations.
- Enforce the quality control policies and programs including: incoming material inspections, label control, finished goods inspection, non-conformances and deviations.
- Perform comprehensive best practices analysis and adapt/integrate these practices into the organization as part of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist the commercial team in customer conversations regarding the new products and relevant quality issues.
- Ensure customer expectations met through performance monitoring, analyzing complaint data, and setting of product specifications based on market need and process capability.
- Investigate customer complaints, identify root cause, and lead the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Lead all customer, internal, and other 3rd party audits; drive any follow-up activities as required of any findings, including the coordination and completion of any required Corrective Actions.
- Assist operations with investigations, new equipment, and process start-ups. Oversee all validation activity and management of change.
- Develop further the ISO quality management system; coordinate internal audits and ISO document control.
- Plan, direct, organize and lead the work of Quality professionals in the plant.
