Job description: As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for scheduling and managing refits and repair projects for luxurious (mega) yachts. You will support the Project Manager with repair projects related to electrical systems and equipment on board of ships, preparing work to be done and coordinating and planning activities. In other words, you will prepare the whole work process, starting from studying customer’s order and finishing with the installation of the right products on board. This is a long-term / permanent position based in Barcelona or Mallorca. Specific duties in this role include: - Having direct contact with customers and understanding client’s orders. - Coordinating (subcontracted) activities for electrical refits and repairs. - Act as a hands-on electrical technician and supervise work done on-board. - Preparing maintenance plans for electrical (custom made) installations. - Supervising a team of electricians, being responsible of the quality of work. - Making sure quality of work is in line with the company’s high standards. Who we are looking for: We are looking for someone who has experience in the Yachtbuiling / Shipbuilding industry, having an electrical background and being able to manage projects in terms of quality and time. Additionally, the following requirements should be met: - Having at least a BSc in Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture or similar. - Having at least 2 years of relevant working experience. - Having experience leading groups of electrical technicians. - Speaking English and Spanish fluently. - Willing to travel for short periods of time worldwide. Preferred criteria: - Speaking Dutch. - Speaking Catalan. - Living in the area of Barcelona. What we offer: This is not a projected-based position, so the company will invest in you and in your personal & professional development. You will special training in the Netherlands during your first weeks in the company, and we will help you with bureaucratic and practical issues related to the new job. The base salary for this position depends on your experience and capabilities, being around 30.000€ gross per year but absolutely negotiable. You will have a Spanish contract including, among others, a mobile phone and 22 holiday days per year. Where you will work: The company you will work for is a worldwide market leader in electrical installations for the yacht building / yacht repair and shipbuilding industry. Even though it is a Dutch company, they operate internationally, being Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca two of their working locations. The company is well-known by its quality, where electrical installations, computer driven alarms and monitoring/ operating systems play the main role.
