The job: In this position as a Senior Naval Architect you will work in the Service Department of our client. Within this department you’ll be responsible for the engineering for operational dredging and offshore vessels. Your daily tasks will be: • Set up complete 2D and 3D models of hull constructions, reinforcements, systems and equipment. • Create and check diagrams, construction plans, general arrangement drawings, production drawings and calculations. • Set up relevant load cases, calculation methods and applicable criteria. • Perform and check strength analysis like FEA. • Examine the processed drawings and documents on consistency, missing information and readability. If necessary you adjust or elaborate the documents and system information. • Work together with the Lead Naval Architect and your team members. • Have contact with 3rd parties (clients, suppliers, classification societies, etc.). • Revise the basic engineering package with team members and relevant 3rd parties. Who we are looking for: To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: • You have a BSc or Msc in Naval Engineering. • You have at least 5 years of experience as a Naval architect or Shipbuilding Engineer. • You have experience with FEM analysis. • You have experience with 3D software. • Familiar with classification society rules for ship structures. • You are willing to learn about the complex technical systems and equipment on board of vessels. • Good analytical and communication skills. • Excellent English both written and spoken.
