The job: In this challenging position you will prepare proposals for Naval Vessels. You will lead the team of proposal designers (among others).Moreover, you will have direct contact with clients , and you will negotiate for new shipbuilding projects. This position is based in the Netherlands. As a Senior Proposal Engineer, you will: • Prepare proposals: based on the customer requests, you prepare a proposal together with the Product Manager, taking into account all issues required in the quote and during the contract phases of projects. • Prepare a planning: determine workforce required and establish a schedule and costs for the project. • Do quotations: take care of the activities to be performed during the project in order to fulfill customers (technical) specifications. This includes design, specifications, budget, planning for the project (taking into account third parties such as suppliers). • Lead & Coordinate: manage designers and check work (designs and calculations) for the proposals to be done. Coordination with other disciplines in the company so that all inputs can be included in the offer. • Contract: negotiate and discuss (technical) issues with the client including design, specifications and other documents. Who we are looking for: To be successful in this role, we require the following: • BSc/MSc in Naval Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar. • At least 5 years of relevant working experience within the shipbuilding or yacht industry. • Experience with engineering, design and budgetary activities for relevant projects. • Being able to work under pressure. • Having eye for detail and being responsible for progress, quality, safety and company rules. • Good command of the English language. • Willing to relocate to the Netherlands. • Willing to travel internationally.
