We are looking for an experienced Lead Structural Engineer for a mega-yacht building company. Job description: In this position you will be responsible for coordinating and controlling the engineering activities of the structural discipline for the construction of Mega-Yachts. You mainly coordinate subcontractors and review the executed engineering work, but you also control the internal engineering team. You report to and communicate with the Manager Engineering and the Project Manager Engineering. This position is based in the Netherlands. Specific duties in this role: - Leading a group of Structural Engineers. - Coordinating & controlling subcontractors for the engineering, progress and planning. - Coordinating & controlling the full engineering process from basic to detail design. - On request, providing input for new projects and possible quality improvement. - Support the production department on technical issues and attend tests such as FAT, SAT etc. - Being one of the first contact persons for clients, suppliers and classification societies. - Monitoring the engineering processes, procedures and ensuring that they comply with (inter)national rules. Who we are looking for: We are looking for an experienced engineer capable of coordinating the structural engineering discipline of the company. Thus, strong communication and leadership skills are important for this position. Additionally, the following requirements should be met: - Having a technical BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture or similar. - At least 3 years of experience as a Lead Engineer or Engineering Coordinator. - Experience with the full engineering process from basic to detail design. - Experience with the engineering of commercial ships such as yachts, cruise ships or ferries. - Being familiar with classification society rules.
