As a Senior Software Engineer - Backend, you will help build state of the art systems and data infrastructure to power the company's digital transformation. Data from over a hundred of diverse sites will power great user features for the media and classified sites. This is a unique opportunity to help design, build, and scale a brand new data infrastructure system to power everything from better article and classified recommendations to more relevant ads, as well as build production systems that improve user experience. Responsibilities: -Together with the team and multiple stakeholders within the company, define and design data infrastructure and distributed systems. -Develop and implement systems using the best development practices and tools. -Help define our development environment, and communicate the best development practices within the organization (i.e. code reviews, testing, etc). -Continuously monitor the quality of the systems, design measurements to monitor their health (both the engineering systems and data quality). -Keep on top of the latest and greatest developments in the cloud, distributed systems, and data science fields. -Work closely with other teams (data science, product, UX, business) to drive product development.
