Metta searchs an European Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager for a industry leader in the manufacturing of industrial fabrics.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
- Design, implement, and improve various programs, standards, systems, and initiatives aimed at preventing incidents, complying with applicable regulations, and drive performance towards world class levels. This includes fostering a safety culture that is positive, encouraging, and that unequivocally and visibly sends a consistent message about caring for our employees and the environment.
- Conduct audits, facilitate risk assessments, lead incident investigations, design and deliver training.
- Lead various diverse projects about recycling, chemical substitution, mergers and acquisitions, plant start-ups, capital projects, etc.
- Organize various business tactical and strategic processes to measure and report performance, plan, communicate, and review priorities. This includes tracking various indicators, scheduling several phone and in-person meetings and events, and helping plants balance local and global objectives.
- Promote collaboration, the sharing of good practices, and the solution of common problems. Design, distribute, and help put in place tools to improve performance.
- Stay informed about regulatory trends, scientific developments, and worldwide tendencies and their potential impact on the company. Propose solutions.
- Lead, influence, coach, and support the organization. Will lead and coach the European EHS Community. Will interact with operators, engineers, managers, and executives. Will supervise one direct report: European Sr. Safety Engineer.
