We are offering a fantastic opportunity for two motivated Bilingual Editors, ideally with some previous publishing or school teaching experience to work on bilingual and CLIL materials for Spain. This role will have day-to-day responsibility for the content development and management of projects, as well as print and digital material from manuscript through to publication, ensuring that all material is of an appropriate quality. The role will also involve extensive liaison with external resources such as authors, illustrators, internal and external teams to ensure that titles are delivered on time, to brief and within budget. Some of the key tasks of the role are: •To take responsibility for the content editing and processing of assigned print and digital components. •To be responsible for different areas of edition in print and electronic media (e.g. handover to design, creating AW briefs / photo briefs / tapescripts, copyediting / proofreading, audio recording sessions, dealing with reprints, etc). •Working with authors to obtain quality manuscripts, brief authors on specification, schedules, ways of working, ensure that all material is to brief, whilst taking responsibility to alert the team to any issues if needed, feedback on manuscripts to authors as appropriate, and undertake content editing and feedback on manuscripts to authors as appropriate. •To proactively support the Content Manager and the Brand Manager by helping on the analysis of the conclusions of market & material feedback provided by Business Intelligence and participate in the incorporation of this feedback in future products. •To take responsibility for the publishing process from manuscript through to publication keeping the relevant stakeholders updated. •To manage content of assets for digital handover on relevant projects, including setting up and managing sign-off of these assets. •To negotiate with freelancers, external authors, illustrators etc and liaising with the legal team for the preparation of the contract.
