Would you like to design naval ships? Are you handy with modern 2D and 3D software? Do you have affinity with the Shipbuilding industry? If so, keep on reading! The job: Working within the outfitting department of the engineering office, you will prepare engineering packages for ships, focusing on the accommodation, storage and leisure rooms of military ships. You will work on engineering work from the first concept engineering drawings, until the production drawings used at the construction site. In order to prepare the engineering work, you will follow regulations and technical specifications provided. In addition to your design / engineering activities, you will coordinate/supervise subcontractors work and order materials necessary for the production phase of projects. Specific duties in this role include: - Preparing 2D and 3D engineering drawings. - Contacting clients and subcontractors regarding technical issues. - Being responsible for the quality of the prepared engineering work. - Having contact with classification societies. - Visiting and helping the production department with possible questions. Who we are looking for: We are looking for someone who has experience in (project) engineering for the outfitting of big ships. The ideal candidate is commercial and has eye for detail. Being able to work in a team is important for this role. Additionally, the following requirements should be met: - Having at least a BSc in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or similar. - Having at least 2 years of relevant working experience. - Being able to work in a structured manner and setting priorities. - Speaking English fluently. What we offer: This is not a projected-based position, so the company will invest in you and in your personal & professional development. You will be based in the Netherlands and occasionally travel to visit your client or supervise the progress of work, which costs will be covered. You will get assistance in relocating to the Netherlands and we will help you with bureaucratic and tax related issues. The base salary for this position depends on your experience and capabilities, being up to 3.000€ gross per month. Where you will work: Our client is a leading company in the shipbuilding industry.
