The IRAM Front End group is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of the heterodyne receivers installed on the NOEMA and Pico Veleta antennas. The group is composed of more than 15 highly experienced technicians and engineers and has an established expertise in millimeter receivers technologies, including SIS mixers, microwave optics, cryostat assembling, control electronics, IF processing, or local oscillators. The current main project is the production of the new, state-of-the-art receivers for the NOEMA array, but the group is also pursuing R&D to prepare for next generation receivers, in particular multi-pixel instruments. RESPONSIBILITIES: - To take over the scientific and administrative leadership of the group, - Organisation and supervision of the receivers design and construction; - Maintenance and performance monitoring of the on-site receivers; - Play an active role in proposing improvements and new projects; - Development of internal and external collaborations.
